How To Stick Your Fringers On A Tech Deck

the profession of journalist professionalism

happens that a library (which, I confess, I am particularly close), decides not to sell the last book sale. The reason is political in the broadest sense: it does not feel the need to flatten to the dictates of publishers abdicating the role of the bookseller. Moreover, in Italy we publish every year tens of thousands of books, and then select what to sell all: the book sale has not passed the selection of the library. It also happens that the bookseller, to save time, please hang a A4 its customers that choice. It is not a declaration of war but of autonomy. Time passes, the sign is removed. After a month a blog, prostate, publish the photo of that sign. The thing is taken from Mantellini in his blog. It starts the brawl: journalists who spend their lives in writing, sifting through the various Friendfeed, they discover it. Attack on freedom of the press! The usual left Stalinist forcaiola with a splash of labor! So says Free. The next day Pieluigi Baptist dedicates to the fact even an article on the front page of Corriere: tones more subdued, covered with intellectuality, but the sense is not very different. E 'then the turn of the Journal, which invites even go to the library to protest. Finally, the day things worse. At the same time, in private, take the machine: the librarian is contacted for interviews to newspapers almost begging to hang above the notorious cartel to photograph him. The answer is clear: Thank you, but I will not repeat the false picture of Iwo Jima. My modest
considerations:
1) The freedom of the press alarm triggered on a book sale, published by Mondadori and not on other titles.
2) It trades for the above-mentioned attack on the freedom the freedom of choice, no library has all the books on the shelves "edited" to select and propose what pleases and interests at the expense of what is not considered valid. This is not the peculiarity of the bookseller you so much regret, the Baptist?
3) The news is not retrieved in real time (two months ago) but only when some widely read blog about it. And 'this is the profession of journalism? Press, excuse the familiarity, you raise the cost much .... take the subway and going to get you a chat with the librarian before writing your piece? But already, a columnist said maybe it was a bit 'lazy and, above all, has no obligations to the truth. Maybe yes to Vespa.

Ah, I forgot, in that library Salinger is sold and recommended.
