The first night of Carnival in Rio was spent sparkling as ever and the samba schools that have seen their floats and costumes to go to their ashes in the great fire 7 February were able to enter into the "sambodromo" Oscar Niemeyer audiences on their feet, with the show recovered nearly one hundred percent. Pamela Anderson, traded by the public for a local beauty famous for its silicone breasts, applauded Ronaldinho who has managed to pull two samba schools in a single night, Mangueira and Portela.
